In the second quarter of 2024, the iOS Film & Television app category saw varying performances amongst the top contenders in the US. Here's a closer look at how these apps fared, with insights provided by Sensor Tower.

Max: Stream HBO, TV, & Movies had a robust quarter with a steady increase in weekly active users, starting at 96K in May and soaring to 391K by the end of June. Downloads also showed a consistent rise, peaking at 140K. Revenue trends saw an upward trajectory, ending the quarter at $164K.

Netflix experienced a mixed quarter. While downloads fluctuated, they ultimately increased to 22K in the last week of June. Revenue saw a slight drop mid-quarter but recovered to $44K. Weekly active users remained strong, maintaining over 1M throughout the quarter.

Amazon Prime Video showed a dip in revenue to $38K mid-quarter but rebounded to nearly $44K. Downloads saw a steady increase, hitting 17K in the final week. Active users had a slight decline but finished strong with 420K.

Disney+ presented an impressive revenue of $547K in the last week of May, although it settled around $415K by June's end. Downloads saw a significant boost in the latter half of the quarter, with active users peaking at 667K in April.

Movistar Plus+ did not generate revenue this quarter. However, downloads showed an initial spike of 17K in mid-April, then steadied to 9K by June. Weekly active users remained under 100K, concluding the quarter with 63K.
